TABC was organized in April of 1971 as a non-profit organization to work for Texas anglers. The organization was and ever shall be dedicated to the preservation or our sport, the conservation of our resources, and involvement with our Texas youth for the future of our State and the promotion of our sport.
The main goals of our organization is to promote the sport of bass fishing through restocking programs, sensible aquatic vegetation control and proper management of our State's resources. Other goals are to promote public interest in our sport and to become immersed in our Texas youth who are the future of all we do. TABC sits on the board of the Texas Outdoor Partnership, a group of conservation organizations throughout the State) providing communications between anglers, hunters, and various outdoor enthusiast, legislators, media and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Agency.
TABC is composed of a President and Vice-President and Secretary who are elected by board members. There are eight (8) board members elected by the general membership and a representative of the San Antonio Metropolitan League of Bass Clubs. These board members are allowed one (1) director at large position for each board member. The Treasurer is appointed by the President.
As an organization, TABC has worked for the Texas angler for over thirty five years: Most of the time "behind the scenes" with results becoming apparent much later. Your board continually monitors events and proposals that are of concern to the bass community of the State of Texas.
